The whole point of this blog is to help you drain the complacency and comfort from your life so that you can experience the abundant life that Jesus promised you as one of his followers.

More than any other society in the history of the world, those of us living in America or other rich Western countries have to struggle to stay dependent on God. Our consumer-oriented culture and our high standards of living push us relentlessly in the opposite direction. Instead of having faith in God, we rely on our regular paychecks and insurance policies.

I have a dream about a generation of young people that throws off this broken heritage and pursues a radically simple and consecrated lifestyle, seeking to live lives where Jesus gets to call the shots instead of each autonomous individual calling his or her own shots.

Some of them are getting it - every now and then I see signs of success that thrill me. Here's one - a video our team of World Racers just made in Peru.
