Here's a man who has a sad but wonderful story. His house collapsed, yet his wife and eight kids miraculously survived.

They're in a tent city, but the owner of the land wants to move them off. So now, all they have left is the lot underneath their ruined house.

If that was your life, where would you start? What would you do?

I think it's a great metaphor for our need for ministry. At times of tragedy, we need God's family to pick up the ruins of our life and help us find hope. We can't do it by ourselves. Jesus commissions us to help people according to Isaiah 58:12, "Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and raise up the foundations; you will be called Repairer of
Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings."
