Unbelievable case of mistaken identity

About a month ago, five of my daughter's friends were killed in a terrible accident.  She might have been in the accident herself if she hadn't taken the semester off.  I blogged about it.

This morning she called and told me that the bodies of two of the girls were mixed up and the one that they thought had lived (Laura) actually died and that her friend Whitney, who they thought was dead, is alive.  It's front page news this morning.

The Fox News report: "— A couple sat by their daughter's hospital bedside for weeks after an auto accident until she came out of a coma and they realized she was not their daughter after all, but another blond-haired young woman injured in the wreck. Their own daughter, it turned out, was dead and buried. Emil Frank, said news of his granddaughter's survival was a shock. "I still can't get over it. It's like a fairy tale," he said."

I asked Estie how she's doing.  She said, "How do you be simultaneously happy (Whitney is alive) and sad (Laura is dead) at the same time?"

I can't imagine how poor Laura's parents must feel.  What a nightmare.  Whitney has been in a coma and apparently her head was so swollen no one could recognize her.  Laura's parents & sister, who have been conducting a bedside vigil as Whitney has been coming out of the coma for the past few weeks, confirmed yesterday what they had been coming to suspect as Whitney has been improving.  For a month, they have bravely been blogging about the experience and shared the news yesterday.  Please be in prayer for the situation.
