I'm in Thailand, "land of smiles." Sleep came easily after the long flight. But I've had dreams. I don't often dream about words, but this time I did. The word "current" came into focus.

The river of abundant life is flowing - can we stay in the current?

Will we move to the stagnant pools and eddies? Bitterness and unforgiveness can keep us there.

Flowing with the current means allowing the Spirit to push you along. It means giving up control.

And then this other question: Can we stay current?

God is doing something new. Will we perceive it? We we stay mindful?

Falling into regret or depression can happen when we obsess about the past. And thinking too much about the future results in worry. A surer path to happiness is to stay current.

A final question pertains to not current, but currency.

What currency do we use to mark value?

Is it the dollar? The opinions of others? The influence we wield? Is God's opinion good enough?

I don't know why I dreamed that, but maybe it was for you. Are you staying in the current? What new thing is God doing in your life?
