Because the vernacular is always evolving, it is important that we define and update our definitions of our terms. Only a few of these terms are in the Bible, but we throw them around all the time. So here is what I mean when I use them:

Discipleship - Waking a person up to their identity and role in the Kingdom of God.

Discipler - One who assists in the waking process. Once the person is fully awake to the Kingdom, disciplers may look more like coaches or just good friends.

Spiritual Coach - One who uses the tools of prayer, encouragement, and challenge to form Christ in another.

Forming Christ - The process of exchanging one's natural identity for a Kingdom identity.

Kingdom of God - On earth, it's many things, but particularly the human lives in which the Lord has established his authority and communion.

Spiritual Formation - A fancy academic word for the fruit of discipleship.
