Higher education in America is a scandal.

• It's too costly, saddling students with debt.

• The lectures in its classrooms are boring.

• Students need mentors who care about them.

• 70% of Christian students lose their faith at college.

OK, so what alternatives are available? For one thing, start with a gap year - it's a much better way to begin navigating life after graduating high school.

For example, this week we launched an alternative we're calling Journey School. 27 students flew to Albania. We had our first class on the beach this morning.

The months ahead will be filled with adventure. We'll begin our days with three hours of AI-driven personalized learning. We'll serve local ministries and work on student projects in cohorts.
